you can invite co workers to join your exotel account and assign them roles for managing calls, sms, and other features this is useful for setting up teams and collaborating within a single account invite a co worker log in to your exotel account using your admin credentials in the dashboard, click the co workers and groups tab from the left panel on the right side of the page, click invite co workers fill in the required information and select the role for the user (e g , user , supervisor , admin ) exotel will send an invitation email with a link the co worker must click the link and follow the instructions to complete their setup once done, the co worker’s account is active remove co workers if you need to change the super admin email for your exotel account, you can do this by updating the list of admins log in to your exotel account as an admin invite a new user and assign them the admin role once the new admin has accepted the invitation, go to the co workers and groups section click on the trash icon against the user to proceed with deleting the user confirm removing the user in the popup with the button delete change the super admin email if you need to change the super admin email for your exotel account, you can do this by updating the list of admins log in to your exotel account as an admin invite a new user and assign them the admin role once the new admin has accepted the invitation, go to the co workers and groups section remove the old admin account that is no longer required the newly added admin will now act as the super admin for the account change a co worker’s email id email ids in exotel are hardcoded in the database and cannot be edited directly from the co workers & groups section if you need to update the email id of a co worker, you must remove the existing user and re invite them with the new email steps to change a co worker’s email id delete the existing co worker go to the co workers & groups panel click the – (minus) sign to remove the co worker admin access can delete users if you are the only admin, temporarily assign admin rights to a trusted co worker so they can perform this action invite the co worker again use the invite co workers option to re add the user enter the new email id along with the co worker’s other details (first name, last name, phone number) assign the required role (admin or otherwise) re adding a removed user with the same email id you cannot re add a user with the same email id that was previously used the system will indicate that the email is already in use to resolve this, append +1 to the original email id for example original email test\@exotel com new email test+1\@exotel com the system will treat this as a new email, but all emails will still be delivered to the original inbox ( test\@exotel com ) change a co worker's role if you need to make an already existing user into an admin or a supervisor, you can click on the 'edit' icon (setting like icon) on the user in the 'co workers and groups' page and select 'admin', ‘supervisor’ from the dropdown note admins will have a crown icon near their name, and supervisors will have a shield icon this should help you differentiate if a co worker is an admin, supervisor, or a regular user change a co worker's phone number you can edit your personal phone number on the co workers & groups http //my exotel in/accounts page an explanation with images is given below go to the 'co workers & groups' page on the dashboard and click the gear icon next to the user's name a pop up opens enter the user details and the phone number (enter 0 followed by the mobile number) once you have entered these details, your number will be configured to verify the newly added number, place a missed call from that number to 09513885656 how can i add a co worker without an email? sometimes you have users who have no unique email id or ones who don't have a company email id but you'd still like to add them to your exotel dashboard there is a very simple workaround to this issue go to the 'co workers and groups' tab on the left panel click on 'invite co workers' on the top right section of the dashboard add your co worker or agent's name you can use your own gmail id to sign up for your agent as well and add a '+' sign and append it with something you'll recognise for example, if your email id is batman\@gmail com, you can sign up for your co worker or agent with batman+1\@gmail com when you do this, the system recognises this as a new email id but all the communication will still be sent to you (everything after the + will be ignored) this way, you can add as many co workers as you want with the same email id as in you can do a +1, +2, or even something like +marketing or +sales you will still need to give your agent's phone number as this is the number exotel will divert the calls to unable to add co worker (invalid csrf token alert) while trying to add a co worker from the exotel dashboard, you might’ve stumbled upon an error message stating this has been done as a product measure to increase our product security & to eliminate one click attacks or session riding while we understand that this could be an inconvenience to you and your team while having to increase coworkers, refreshing the page should resolve this alert adding back a deleted user to add the same user back, navigate to the co workers and groups section and click on "invite co workers " however, you won't be able to use the same email id for the agent, as the system will indicate that the email id is already in use for the same or a different account to resolve this issue, you can append "+1" to the original email id when adding the user again for example, if the email id was "test\@exotel com," you can add them as "test+1\@exotel com " this will register as a new email id in the system, but you will still receive all emails to the original email id, "test\@exotel com "
